RE:RE:RE:RE:haters big and smallNew Afton is highly profitable at a little more than 1% cu eq.  We have similar caliber grades, and probably many more tonnes than Afton.

block caving opex plus footprint capex can be around $20 per tonne.  We have better rock than that.  For the limit (stretched) of block cave profitability check out the Kemess south deposit that Centerra purchased for more than GT market cap.  It is suuuper low grade...,

And red Chris has been profitable - bad year, but they have been paying a $60m per year interest bill that resulted from a number of unfortunate things... (not the least of which was mining the best starter pits at $2 Cu).
