brewhouse wrote: Alpha, no not trolling, want to get into CPG, still looking for the bottom which I think is very close. I too would like to see the pipelines in. BUT you still didn’t really answer my question. What would you, or anybody else we put in government do to get these pipelines in. Trudeau tried to get the east line in BUT. Dennis coderre, a former cabinet minister, and then mayor of Montreal, said no. As I am sure you know, the rest of the people in Quebec also say no. They are real tree huggers in quebec. Keystone is halted by the Americans as of right now,and the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land said no, which stop of from putting a shovel in the ground. I am not trying to be an. Idiot here but just don’t see anyone we put in politics will change a thing. If you or anyone else out there can tell me how someone else instead of Trudeau will get this through, then I am all ears. I am never too good to listen to good  advice. Regards brewhouse

Trudeau could always use the not withstanding clause to circumvent the publics constitutional rights. Meaning that they would not be able to use the constitution of Canada to raise federal challenges. Provincial challenges can be stopped by using the feds 'National Interest of Canada'. This would push it through, however with a fair amount of political suicide. You are mostly incorrect about the province of quebec. Infact when they were polling the majority of the population were infact for energy east. After all they do know that it is in there best interest financially and for the future of all Canadians. To add to this, the majority of indigenous people were and are for trans mountain. The real problem is that our politicians truly try to please all people. Its really an impossible task. The media war ie (OIL) vs (Pollution) was lost, as no one fought on behalf of oil. So now even though evidence to the contrary the oil sands is the worst polluter of CO2 in the world. Its ugly and tar. Most people that attend these demonstrations are truly misinformation spreaders, don't know the facts and truly don't care about Canada or its future. I care about greenhouse gases, global warming. But also realize that a hundred years of progress cannot be changed in one or two years.
