The Financial post says the CC court overruled the supremecourt in sept 2017 and THO couln't reopen it's mine during the new Xinca
indigenous vote to see whether the THO's silver mine could exist at all.
Guatemala's CC court being the higher court, and the Supreme court in
Guatemala is the 2nd highest court.

Reinstate Escobal Mining License'

resolved within 6 months by the MEM (ministry of energy and mines) of
Guatemala. It's been 1.3 years and still not resolved and THO's funds are
drained with no end in sight.
ie
"Escobal mining license will remain suspended until the Ministry of Energy
and Mines (“MEM”) completes the ILO 169 consultation with the Xinka
communitie
(s) in the region of the Escobal mine. At this time, the Company
does not have a timeline for completion of MEM’s ILO 169 consultation.
However, in the similar case of OXEC, MEM completed the consultation
within 6 months."
Communitie
(s) to me sounds like the vote is going to be taken by the
Xinca indigenous natives in other districts outside the San Rafael district
where THO's silver mine is. The other districts want some of the money
action I guess and perhaps what it was all about in the first place. And
possibly PAAS wanted THO's mine all along and greasing some of the so
called civil rights agitation of the other Xinca natives in the other districts
around San Rafael.
Everyone's hands seemed to have been greased as it were.
Now, after 1.3 years and no end in sight,
PAAS steps in and buys THO and the only reason that could be, is the
end is in sight and a deal has been made. Xinca's will agree to the new
vote in favor of the silver mine staying in existence and operating, but
not with THO's management, which really means THO's board of directors
Just replacing one board of directors with a similar one. The indigenous
vote now, appearing to include other districts outside the San Rafael
district where THO's silver mine is.
Yet or of course nothing about the surmises above is mentioned in
Guatemala's main news paper the Republica (yeah yeah of a great republic
democracy nation, not). It's blas with no short recap of the problems and
dynamics going on. And no interviews with Xinca representatives on
their opinion and reactions of PAAS buying THO. It's like ho hum, this is
how it ends.

that created them (and passed the declarations of them in the world in the
1990s, signed by most nations), namely the UN.
But when the president of Guatemala Jimmy Morales was accused of
illegal campaign contributions and not revealing them, who did the opposition
party allow in to the nation to help impeach the president, no other than the
UN again.

As I see it anyway. What a racket and what a world. Ugh!
