RE:Oil Prices Collapsed
RE:Oil Prices CollapsedThe good news is that the cash component was limited to 1B and the rest is tied to HSE share price so really the bid for MEG shares is now around 8 bucks and change, almost back to pre bid levels.
I agree though, stilll too rich and it would be best if bid was pulled but can't see MEG shareholders rejecting the deal. That would be a disaster for them.
As for the "sea-birds" story, you knew that CBC and other media outlets would have a field day with the story and make it out to be a large scale disaster. They never talk about the good jobs and economic stimuls that the energy business brings or how royalties/taxes pay for their public service jobs.
The CBC and the 2 stalkers we have on the board don't make mention of the fact that icebeg alley is one of the toughest operating environments in the World and sooner or later something like this is going to happen. Sure, pull the HSE licence and then sit back as other operators rush in with billions to fill the void knowing that they themselves will face the same challenges as HSE does in this environment. Of course, it won't happen but for the moment we are at the mercy of little boys and the media who taunt everyone who dares to do something in life except complain.
