RE:ChartistsI am not a great fan of charts and do not use them myself but I have witnessed some fairly accurate predictions. I am a long (very long) term investor so I tend to rely more on fundamentals (and time) to make me money. It works for me. But I would not dissuade any one from using them as long as you understand the market you are in first.
On that note, sometimes it takes many years for a strategy to bear fruit and I find the time horizons of investors to be very short. these days. As you probably recognize I am quite an old guy but some of my investments have timelines of well over 20 years so waiting for the U market to turn after 5 or 6 years is kinda short for me.\
I may pop my clogs before some of these investments come to fruition but that will benefit my successors which is really who I do it for these days.
So when I say patience...I really do mean that.
As Mr Buffet would say the average time for holding a stock is forever. When you understand what that means in practice then you'll start making real money.
