Namaste 420 Show Summary 11/28/2018 Another week of executions by Namaste Technologies as it continues to build its unique marketplace for medical marijuana patients by providing them choice and education, in addition to being powered by AI technology to help make the decision-making process more efficient. On Monday, Namaste signed a subscription agreement and has made an investment of $250 000 in Kief Cannabis Company Ltd. at a cost of $5.35 per share. Why does this relationship matter? Cannmart Inc., Namaste’s wholly owned subsidiary, signed a medical cannabis supply agreement to purchase premium medical cannabis products from Kief Cannabis. Cannmart has the right of first refusal on 35 percent of the total production of cannabis from Kief Cannabis. The business model of Namaste Technologies is built on acquiring supply agreements with Licensed Producers. As research progresses on the use of cannabis as a medicine – for example, a study has been commissioned to see the effects of cannabinoids on children with autism – it will be imperative in the future to be able to offer patients a variety of strains for their individual condition. That would further explain why an agreement was inked with Weed Me Inc. This wasn’t just another supply agreement. Weed Me Inc. has exclusive rights to “Dutch Passion” out of Amsterdam. They have over sixty unique strains and seeds. Cannmart has already placed its first order that includes a variety of prerolled products in several strains.
On Tuesday, Pineapple Express Delivery Inc., whom Namaste had made an investment of 15 percent in June of this year, launched the much anticipated same-day delivery service in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for its medical cannabis products. Effective immediately, Cannmart patients within the GTA will have access to same-day, set-time, and rushed delivery services. Through NamasteMD, a new patient could receive their medical license, get connected with Cannmart to place an order, and receive it within 4 hrs. I’m sure the thought has crossed many readers’ minds, cannabis is legal now in Canada, so what?
Becoming a medical patient has its benefits. Aside from the most obvious – your health – expenditures on medical cannabis can be used to earn tax credits. Who qualifies? Anyone with a prescription from an authorized medical practitioner. Medical cannabis is cheaper compared to recreational, and not to mention compassionate pricing programs for veterans. Some provinces have introduced a new tax levy of up to an additional 3.5 percent on your purchase, which some LPs are covering the cost of. As this industry continues to grow, other industries will have to evolve as well like insurance companies. As of March 1
st of this year, Sun Life Insurance started allowing plan administrators to add medical marijuana coverage. The coverage can range from $1 500 - $6 000. According to Health Canada, as of June 2018 over 330 000 Canadians are registered as medical patients. Compare that to only 24 000 patients at the end of June 2015. Currently, this $1.24 billion industry is expected to reach $2.35 billion by 2025. However, this will drastically change as more Canadians become better educated about the benefits to their health.
Special guest today was Pete Evans, producer of the documentary
Magic Pill, available on Netflix. Pete Evans “is an internationally renowned and household chef, restaurateur, author and television presenter. His passion for food and a healthy lifestyle inspires individuals and families around the world.” Why are a famous chef and cannabis company collaborating? They’re going to do some forward thinking and prepare for when edibles are included in the Cannabis Act in late 2019. Today starts a paradigm shift for Namaste Technologies. What started off as a vaporizer company who were shipping products out of a garage has turned into medical marijuana company who now will start to focus on education and health. “Change the world and make it a better place,” Sean Dollinger comments. There is a stigma about cannabis, but that will start to change, through education. When we start to use cannabis as a medicine and continue to get results from the numerous studies currently being conducted on the benefits of CBD oils the possibilities are endless. We can begin to think about integrating CBD into our meals. When you mention edibles, most will think of gummies and brownies; however, Namaste thinks outside the box, so “Canadians are in for real treat,” literally.
