Remember Vic ran Jamieson before Aphria
Anyone remember that Vic ran Jamieson? He built a solid vitamin company and aligned himself with many pharmacies, etc. I don't recall him ever being attacked for any wrong doing.
Amanda on BNN did a great job during the interview with Mr. Sleezeball which made him seem like he was just that, a lying piece of.....
Amanda also noted that Aphria will respond very soon once they take the time to review all the accusations and form a full rebuttal. This will either smash the shorts or give them more fuel. I think the shorts should cover now, Mr Sleezeball has already begun doing so, but states he still holds a large position....if you can believe him - I don't.
That is how the game is played. Obtain a short position, then release a document to create FEAR and pay the bashers pennies on the potential profits to help spread that fear, then cover the short position before the company gets a chance to challenge all the accusations. Notice that Mr. Sleezeball would not say when they took a short position, I wonder why! Obviously before the short report was released.
From Monday's company response:
"Aphria is aware of a short-seller report released earlier today which Aphria believes is a malicious and self-serving attempt to profit by manipulating Aphria's stock price at the expense of Aphria's shareholders."
Investors should exercise caution in relying on the misrepresentations and distortions contained in the report and recognize that, by their own admission, Hindenburg Research "…stands to realize significant gains in the event that the price of any stock covered herein declines." The report also states that, "Hindenburg Research makes no representation, express or implied, as to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of [the information in report]."
