More Alberta refining not a good idea

More Alberta refining not a good ideaCanada presently has enough refining capacity . So if you refine more in Canada it has to be exported . That means you have to ship it by rail or by pipeline to another market . Its the same issue with crude . Except now you have spent 50 billion on a refinery and there 3 grades of gasoline , diesel , jet fuel , motor oil , etc to market and transport . The pipeline issue through BC is still not resolved and the Americans don't need refined product , they already export hydrocarbons of their own .

The government is the only entity profligate enough to even propose building a refinery . Its more stupidity to cover over past stupidity . Theres no public company proposing a refinery because they're trying to make money not lose it .

Now if youre talking more upgrading thats a different situation entirely .

As an aside I like the way Mr Colborne has been loading up on Surge stock this year . Over 400,000 as near as I can determine from SEDI .
