RE:Dividend yieldOur yield was double digits a few years ago when they were calling for 15$bbl oil...a cut never happened.Its amazing to me how short people memorys are..eithe rthat or they didnt invest then.
A high yield can be a trigger for negativety..thats for sure...BUT ..it takes many quarters for that to usually happen.,and a cut also goes hand in hand with a few lousy quarters coupled with unknown guidance for example.
That citeria doesnt fit Vermillion at this point.It wasnt that long ago that oil was predicted to be $100bbl...again how fast we forget.
And more importantly ..how fast these analysts can change their tunes.Worse than weathermen.They make calls when they havent got skin in the game..or may be shorting the stock..or just comment to hear themselves babble.
The only job I know of where you can be dead wrong %50 of the time ..and not be fired lol.
