competition is alive and well
competition is alive and wellI have noticed several US companies seeking out listings on the Canadian exchanges. Despite the Feds dragging their feet to delay the inevitable, some brave privately held US companies are getting listings, mostly on the CSE so they are either gambling heavy or not too worried about the FEDS cracking down on them. The Sessions boys leaving probably bolstered their positions.
I mentioned before about our Colorado competition Dixie Brands being listed as C. DIXI.U and I jumped the gun and took a position because they built a pretty good private marijuana company in Colorado and are moving for international positioning and US expansion. 100 plus products, doubled their revenue and have products on shelves in Nevada, California, Illinois and Colorado, also gearing up for Canada in a timely fashion as Canada is about 8 months out to legal edibles which includes beverages.
I view Dixie as direct competition who are making about the same moves as EAT while scanning the opportunities. They also have beverages and quite a bit of cash in their jeans. Over 20 million dollars prior to going public.
Some of the US companies seeking new listings in Canada did very well with quick doubles on their shareprice but sadly for me, Dixie has done poorly despite being an established company with lots of products developed and tested and on shelves for the public. I bought a little prematurely as I felt this could do well because of their track history but apparently I was in before the market maker was ready to go. They are on track now and we had a little boost in sp for awhile.
I hope they do some nrs to announce their presence as a publicly traded company. A couple of BNN ads could bring this to life. glta and dyodd
