This is actually a very smart thing for Greenspace Brands to do as it is an indirect way to give some support to the ailing stock price. It is also in the lenders best interest to see through Greenspace Brand's success.
They are equity incentive shares, not regular shares. The company is not getting $0.37/share, they're getting nothing for these shares, it's just shares given away as additional compensation on top of the interest rate (and have a par value of $0.37/share).
