Thanks Oldminer123. All good points. These considerations had to have been well understood, mapped out and addressed many months (or even years?!) ago. The pilot trials for the arsenic removal process were announced over a year ago with DST:

I can understand that this is a very challenging metallurgical process chemistry; even if pilot trials are successful...ramping this up to 'real-scale' commercial production model to produce a feasibility level economic analyis is perhaps a greater challenge than was anticipated? 

There are bound to be some vital commercial sensitivites here but timely and honest/informed communication strategy would help manage expectations for all concerned. 

I dunno really, but have read that DST has recently had good success in enhancing cobalt recoveries from another mining operation:
