Theralase Technologies Inc. is a Canada-based clinical-stage pharmaceutical company. The Company is engaged in the research and development of light activated compounds and their associated drug formulations. The Company operates through two divisions: Anti-Cancer Therapy (ACT) and Cool Laser Therapy (CLT). The Anti-Cancer Therapy division develops patented, and patent pending drugs, called Photo Dynamic Compounds (PDCs) and activates them with patent pending laser technology to destroy specifically targeted cancers, bacteria and viruses. The CLT division is responsible for the Company’s medical laser business. The Cool Laser Therapy division designs, develops, manufactures and markets super-pulsed laser technology indicated for the healing of chronic knee pain. The technology has been used off-label for healing numerous nerve, muscle and joint conditions. The Company develops products both internally and using the assistance of specialist external resources.

During a job interview for CEO of a biotech the candidate listed his qualifications as:
University education with a B.Sc degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology, also an M.Sc and Ph.D in Cellular and Molecular Biology coupled with a MBA and 5+ years of pharmaceutical drug development experience.

Reaching the end of the job interview, the Human Resources Officer asks "And what starting salary are you looking for?" The candidate replied, "In the region of $300,000 plus a year, depending of course on an adequately sized, superior benefits package."
The interviewer inquires, "Well, what would you say to a benefits package of five weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to say, 75% of salary, a performance bonus plus stock options and a company car leased every two years, say, a Corvette?" The candidate sat up straight and says, "Wow! Are you kidding?" The Human Resources Officer replied, "Yeah, but you started it."
