Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:Rebuttal Release: New Perspective

RE:RE:Rebuttal Release: New PerspectiveWe will know that audit report is ready when we see offers from certain multinationals. High level negotiations have been happening all month and when a big player steps in maybe we see it then.

The BoD’s mandate is primarily to protect the shareholders interest. When viewing the short term window of the last month, an easy case can be made that they are not, something like this:

‘How can it take this long for a report to be done, something must be wrong, the board and management don’t care about the shareholders.’

while it could very well be...

Aphria is in the middle of a hostile takeover. A delayed rebuttal, combined with an expression of interest for multiple bid offers, provides more time for third party offers to be prepared so shareholders don’t foolishly vote to accept an undervalued offer during a period of uncertainty, when lots of shares traded hands and many new investors would concede with less. This is a form of protecting shareholder interest and shouldn’t be ruled out.

Totally agree Brokenkeyboard...people need to understand they're not privvy to everything going on behind the scenes.
