East West Petroleum Corp. is a Canada-based junior oil and gas company. The Company is engaged in the exploration, development and production from certain of its oil and gas properties. Its portfolio consists of interests in exploration concessions in New Zealand and Romania and producing properties in the Taranaki Basin, New Zealand. In New Zealand, it holds a 30% working interest in the Petroleum Exploration Permit (PEP) 54877 and the Petroleum Mining Permit PMP 60291 (Cheal East). PMP 60291 is the location of the Cheal E-Site and the Cheal E-site production facility as well as the Cheal-E wells. The oil and gas production comes from over five wells on the Cheal-E site, the Cheal-E1, E2, E5, E6 and E8 wells. It also has interests in over four blocks, Tria (EX-2), Balle Felix (EX-3), Periam (EX-7) and Biled (EX-8), which covers a total of approximately 4,079 square kilometers (1,007,500 acres) and are located in western Romania on the eastern margin of the producing Pannonian Basin.

As I posted long ago there are provision where with the support of a certain % of shareholders a special meeting can be convened. The process is involved and requires subject matter expertise which far exceeds my knowledge and I assume since no individual or group can forward to lead the initiative others felt the same.
Of course the situation for has worsened considerably in the eyes of many of us since then so I am guessing there may be a heightened level of motivation by posters here to seek some action to satisfy their interest in protecting their interests.
Given the foregoing and what I think was a reasonable concern posted by Vikingman regarding a possible acquisition at these ridiculously low levels, and the continuing possibility that the company once having abandonned its listing could be taken private anyone sharing these concerns would be looking for a strategy to ensure their shareholder rights and investment are protected
some have suggested a legal response which would leave shareholders spending additional funds to deplete the company’s limited treasury.
Another alternative is to find an activist investor, company or fund willing to invest on the open market and or pledge our support to them in taking action to correct what we think is wrong with the management and operation of this company.
Given the O&G background of some of our investors here someone may have some contacts in the industry who could point them in the direction of an interested party seeking a value investment.
