Lucara Diamond Corp. is a Canadian diamond mining company with a producing mine and exploration license in Botswana. It is an independent producer of large Type IIa diamonds from its 100% owned Karowe Diamond Mine in Botswana. The Karowe Mine is the focus of the Company's operations and development activities. Its 100% owned Karowe mine is a producer of large Type IIA diamonds, more than 10.8 carats, including the historic 1,758 Sewelo, the 1,109 carat Lesedi La Rona and the 813-carat Constellation.

Lucara does not won th eBK16 prospecting licenses being worked by Tsodilo (TSD), but does have some an interest and some rights there, and results from BK16 so far show more promise than any other prospecting that Lucara has going. TSD will eventually finish the project but it could save Lucara a lot of money in the long run by taking over the project either as a JV or an outright purchase, and finishing it faster than TSD. TSD also has prospecting licenses surrounding AK6, and has identified paleo channels that could well hold alluvial diamonds. It won’t take much to pursue the prospecting for alluvials, and it will be interesting to see what Lucara does if/when TSD starts digging up large diamonds sourced from Lucara’s own pipe.
