Actually, Equinor is an industry leader in unconventionals

Actually, Equinor is an industry leader in unconventionalsCNPC signed an MOU with EQI In late October to jointly develop tight gas reserves, with CNPC hoping that EQI’s technology would help them to increase revenues from their own massive domestic unconventional gas fields.

Furthermore, shas ince 2008, EQI honed their tech and made money from early stages in US unconventionals.  They haven’t been a silent partner either, as they have been operator  in three of the premium shale oil and gas plays.
In the USA, the extraction of shale oil and gas from major reserves revolutionized the energy market, and has bolstered market confidence in gas. Today, the US is the only country in the world producing shale gas commercially, and Equinor
was involved from an early stage.

In Equinor, we quickly saw the potential of shale gas and became involved at an early stage.

In the middle of the financial crisis in 2008, we entered a strategic agreement with one of the largest shale gas producers in the US.

Since then, we have further enhanced our position within shale gas, as well as shale oil. We are now an operator in three of the premium shale gas and oil plays.

Equinor holds positions and is an operator in three of the premium shale gas and oil plays (both in shale and dense rocks) in the USA: Bakken, Eagle Ford and Marcellus.
