RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Wait for price consolidation folkYou are right that digital globe is worth something. I do not know how much it decreased in value since acquisition. Here is how I see the situation: In 2017, digital globe was purchased for an enterprise value of C$4.7 billion (US$3.6 billion). They paid us$35 per share equivalent at the time. I would assume that with recent developments, the EV of digital globe would have declined if it traded as a stand-alone. Maybe it would be back to 12$/share, who knows. https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/DGI/digitalglobe/stock-price-history We can see in 2017 when it got acquired, it was near a high. If the current market value was that of 2012 or 2016 (I have no idea but, lets assume bad scenario, digital globe could worth only 1/3rd of price it was acquired in 2017. That means digital globe might be worth considerably less than US$3.2 billions. On its side, the maxar prior to acquisition as a stand-alone would probably be trading at a lower value as well due to operational issues/costs, decline in geo business. Now, if both were stand-alone businesses, it is possible that the sum of the parts would be worth more than the combination we are seeing now.
