Both of your picks have way to much debt for my liking right now. I do however agree that 5 months of dead money is a long time. 

However, the trend seems to have reversed and there may be more money to be made by just sitting on this while the price is rising. 

You could wait until mid Feb and pick up JE, for the rise to their ex dividend day, thereby picking up a quick quarterly distribution there. I suspect you can make more money selling a day or two ahead of the ex div day.
