I wonder how much of an impact the facility size/complexity and the growing techniques have on the speed of HC's review process.
That Edmonton Journal article makes the Viridis operation sound relatively small and simple. It's described as an "8,000-square-foot" facility, using "dirt containers under specialized LED lighting", and "expected annual 700 kilograms of production" initially.
As a comparison, RQB's web site describes its Edmonton facility as having 35,000 sq. ft., using orbital gardens, for 7,000 kg expected annual production.
