Got more inside info on the Ascent Industries license issues. Turns out the story is deeper & involves bureaucratic problems that weren't necessarily ascents doing. Former execs taking the hit because pointing blame where it lies would put the company at odds with Health Canada. Information comes from a third party with familiarity with the situation, so take with a grain of salt, but makes more sense.
Reportedly ascent was working a 'transition plan' to move from grey market to legal with HC blessing when HC gave them a license. Mid plan HC changed mind.
Stating that there’s almost zero chance is a little harsh. There’s clearly more to this story than we all know but it’s certainly not black and white.
One could interpret this acquisition that they’re optimistic they’ll get reinstated and want to ensure that the company they built is being steered in the right direction. The 600,000sqft Agrima meadows facility looks to be near completion. If I were one of the larger cannabis companies I’d be salivating at the opportunity to acquire a licensed/unlicensed undervalued ascent.
Im still optimistic. Good luck to you all. I’m in til the bitter end
