RE:RE:Time to end the experiment Morning Alpha
Sadly, we are seemingly stuck with the same management team and BoD that we have had for ages. Changing one player really changes nothing. The advantage that they have, of course, is anonymity - it's the "Management Team" or it's the "BoD" .
I wonder if one of our larger investors with deeper pockets than you or I took out a full page ad in the Globe and Mail and National Post with all their names, photos and positions as well as their compensation packages and "benefits" and outlined the overall performance over the past, say, 3 years as well as the promises broken etc etc so EVERYONE in CANADA would become aware of who these folks are, if that, might perchance change their behaviour.
The last straw was essentially cancelling the Divi due to the financial status of the company and then rewarding senior management with millions in bonuses and options. In this financial climate, I am unsure they would get any sympathy for that one -with the exception of perhaps in the Senate and the PMO but nowhere else.
You can be sure that any other professional - Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer (perhaps calling these folks professionals is a bit of a stretch - but let's give them the benefit of the doubt) that had a 90% or greater fail rate, his or her photo would be on the front page of every newspaper in the country.
The really sad part here is that these folks take great personal pride in what they are doing in part, because there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Imagine, if you will for a moment, that every time you stepped on a plane train, restaurant etc you had to wonder how many people in that room recognized you for who...and what, you were. Would that influence your behaviour?
Maybe we would get a bunch of resignations....now wouldn't THAT be nice?
Cation....are you reading this?
Cheers
