Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:Downhill communications at Aphria - Letter to IR

RE:RE:Downhill communications at Aphria - Letter to IRI also sent some emails to IR and frankly, I gave up on these guys. Their response is very generic. It leaves you with a feeling of powerlessness, sometimes I think cashing out and forget about this nightmare, it is absolutely appaling to witness such an abysmal IR department.

We retail investors have no say while we suffer most from APH mayhem and its handlings. After 3 months of waiting, we get another piss-poor Vic style interview.

Skyplt, I know you mentioned this in the past, what can we do to get you a seat at the table. I will fully support you!

We need common sense and logic at the table fast.

Very well written.

I also e-mailed IR shortly after the BNN interview conveying a similar message.

My focus was the apparent lack of awareness by the Chairman of not only where Aphria was located, but the SEC submission.  I believe he could have clearly spoken to some of the specifics in that report rather than appearing to sidestep many of the questions.

Under normal circumstances he may have gotten away with the apparent jovial attitude, but Aphria has been in the doldrums for an extended period (Nov thru to Feb, over three months now) and in my opinion, each day that goes by without any sort of significant news (HC approval, independent report, JV, pharma initiatives) is another day of withering on the vine.

I concluded my e-mail with essentially a plea that Aphria recognize it has a severe PR issue despite the strong numbers (compared to the rest of the sector) and it is well into diminishing returns.  I also suggested they have until the next AGM to get this right as there is a growing movement within the retail investors to begin to hold this group accountable.  I expect to be at the AGM and I will be asking questions.

Hope something eventually turns.  Definitely long on Aphria from a numbers perspective; but these guys have to realize the gong show they are portraying has to somehow stop.  Perhaps this is soft bashing, but I believe some on this site are confusing constructive criticism with trolling.  One can be a long term shareholder and express concern about some aspects of the way things are being handled.

Hi Joel,
I am just emailing to voice my dissatisfaction and embarrassment as a shareholder regarding Irwin's recent interview on BNN. His mis-pronunciation of Leamington, constant "listen, listen" comments, and general inability to clearly get his point across and answer a question was quite frankly appalling. After months of silence this is what we get? Regarding the Althea UK news yesterday, could we have gotten more of a NR for that instead of a single tweet by Jakob who has 1 follower? Yet we release a NR today because we hired  C rate VP of supply chain (no offence to him, but it is what it is). I think you are personally doing a great job at your role Joel, but your superior Andrew Swartz who should be in-charge of communicating Aphria's message is doing a piss poor job at his role. As an investor of Aphria for the last 3 years, I have seen the gradual decrease in the quality, quantity, speed at responding to events and transparency of your communication efforts under Andrew's helm. I am voicing my concern and request a through reevaluation into his employment at Aphria, purely based on his abysmal performance when compared to peers in our sector.

Regards,
