Then you’re actually looking at US$2.16 share at after tax NPV8 for a 6 Mtpa mine at Kakula. This is slightly below the current share price of US$2.40. For the 18 Mtpa mine NPV boosts to US$4 share. These are still strong numbers, which don’t include Platreef or Kipushi.

NPV is calculated when construction begins, not production. It discounts for the time value of money, and the clock starts running as soon as major construction begins. In this case the project is penalized (discounted) at a rate of 8%. Actual cash flow is quite a bit higher.
