RE:Worth the read There is more NOT in this story than is in it.
* The portion of pipe needing expansion is in Quebec- the TCPL owned TQM part of the Montreal - Portland pipe.
* The M&NE has way more capacity needed to supply Eastern Canad- maybe even enough for Goldboro Train 1 without even compression additions.
* Heritage Gas in NS is getting its gas over the modest PNGTS/TQM expansion that will be completed in the next year. Apparently Enbridge NB did not hitch on to that. No idea why.
* There is no way that TRP would undertake this just for the puny amount of gas NB needs. So presumably PEA is in this-likely the driver.
* So why are they not talked up? Anybody's guess.
* PEA has a development cost agreement where they would be paying a big chunk of TRP's costs in getting this far. Again, why no announcements.
* If anyone wants they could contact the NEB to see what is in this app. How much of an expansion. You could also call that TRP guy named and quoted in the story.
* Whoever this is for, there will have to be a parallel app with FERC in the US.
* If PEA is in this, or driving it, when the app(s) are granted, unlike the other shippers (who will sign take or pay contracts), PEA will have to put some kind of cash or near-cash security for a very big proportion of whatever the construction costs are. (The design and engineering work behind determining those costs those are part of what the DCA with PEA would be for.)
