To think that the supply deficit will start to turn after 7 years would suggest that massive amounts of capital is currently pouring into the space to bring projects on to meet the projected demand, but that just is not the case based on the data. Projections include growth in supply from expansion of existing mines and an assumption around new resources. There would have to be a considerable step up over the next couple of years in terms of expected supply coming online to start meeting projected demand (of course assuming demand reflects projections roughyl) in 7 years. Think about how long it takes to find a new economiical deposit, get it permitted and finance and into production. LOOOONGGG TIME. and If supply increases that quickly thats likely because the price of copper is sky high.
