Disconnect

DisconnectAs far as large scale utility storage batteries are concerned, the choice right now is between Li-ion and VRFB.  Li-ion batteries are very powerful but are very poor when storing energy.  A perfect example is a cellphone or an automobile battery, very poor but no alternative.  Ask your friends about their Tesla battery performance in the winter, a 40% discount.  Check out some Li-ion installations and the storage specs.  On the other hand, VRFB can easily go to 4, 6, or 8 hours.  Also since the VFRB can discharge and charge at the same time that is a big advantage.  But the main difference is safety and should be the first consideration.  The VRB is not flammable and absolutely not a toxic waste candidate.  Vanadium electrolyte never wears out. Lithium on the other hand presents a disposal problem.

No sense in continuing this, but the VRFB is hands down the best battery for large scale energy storage.

Meanwhile there is a complete disconnect between the price of the stock and company.  I just ignore it and will take advantage of it from time to time.
