Today's just-in-time inventory management controls can create serious circumstances for manufacturers when they experience even minor disrutions to their supply chains. It appears that the flooding in Australia and the reshuffle of supply at the LME has more than sufficient potential create havoc in these large finely tuned systems.
The mythical "dump" is long overdue. Something has to give and I'm betting that the price of zinc will rise sharply over the next two months in response to extremely tight supply.
