Look at the volume.  If someone was preparing a higher bid, they would be scooping up all the shares at 8.95.  Looks like that occurred after the first deal was announced.  The second bidder probably bought up one million shares at 7.55 and has now unloaded them all at 8.95.  They also forced a competitor to pay a materially higher price for Crius.  And they got paid over $1 million for their trouble.
