RE:RE:Edibles are Coming to Canada, but will Regs Doom the Market

RE:RE:Edibles are Coming to Canada, but will Regs Doom the MarketThe regs need to be altered immensely to combat the black market's head start on edibles. I hope everyone took the time to fill out the survey sent by the govt asking for public input on edibles and beverages. They needed to hear from those that have a vested interest and actual users of the product.
My focus was on beverages and treating it like an alcohol beverage which allows branding, does not need child proof caps after opening, allows for more than 10 mgs per package as opposed to bottle.
It would make it difficult to compete with and end the black market if they continue on their original path.
I hope they hear from industry and listen. The packaging is disgusting for someone that cares about the environment.

10mg of THC per portion and it has to be packaged with all the HC info (which is a lot)...therefore no room on the package for branding.  You can't even have multiple (i.e. Candies) in 1 bag therefore reducing the waste.

Speaking of waste, has anybody bought from their provincial online store yet? or if fortunate enough to have a retail shop nearby...have you bought their products?  Well, let me tell you this...THIS is an incredible waste of plastics.  Each container (1gr or 3.5gr) are all in childproof plastic containers similar to buying Asprin or Tylenol...not attractive branding at all.

There are certainly going to be challenges to this market when it comes available.
