The Chinese government regards her as a political prisoner. And maybe they’re right. Retaliation was swift. When you arrest someone like that, it had better be for something really important. The action practically begs for vengeance. It’s also a blow to Canadian business. China will now freeze us out. If it’s a choice between Canada or just about anyone else, Canada will be shown the door. Considering our economy only grew 0.1% in Q4/2018 over Q3, the timing couldn’t be worse.
