Food for thought- cannabis sectorI found a list that had 96 weed stock companies. Acb claims they will have 500,000kg capacity, weed 700,000kg, aph 250,000kg, cronos 117,000kg, zena 460,000kg. That’s over 2 million kg just with those guys. Numbers show that the national average is 14% of people smoke weed, or only 4.3 mil people. 55% of those being daily or weekly 2.4mil. Let’s say this is low and bump it to 28% or 8.6mil, and of those, daily users to 4.8mil. If daily users were to smoke a gram a day (4.8mil), and the rest an average of a half gram a day (1.9mil) that’s 2.5mil kg only needed per year. Hexo will have 108,000kg, cann trust 100,000kg, organigram 112,000kg, Green organic 195,000kg, auxly 170,000kg. 86 listed companies left still growing and demand is already met. Then there’s the black market, and the private guys, oh, and home growers. Too many companies, too much weed, too high of valuations. F————-k, ah well, time to leave a few bucks in this sector then head over to lithium and solar. If Canada gets as cheap as the USA, and canopy is selling its full 500,000kg as 1/8 ozs for 15$, their revenue will only be 2.2bil which is a far cry from their current cap which sucks for the market. Just food for thought.
