Just looking on the book value is very very simple. PAT have a lot more value than just the numbers in the balancesheet. Their intangible assets like patents, know-how are even more worth thant the hard-asstes minus debts (book value).

For example Amazon has a book value of about 20 USD/share.  That is x88 book value.

That would be for PAT a market cap of more than 3 Billion.
