Sorry Steven, but the IIROC does not report the 'Open Short Position'. What you are looking at, is the number of shares shorted during the the second half of March. What is missing from IIROC's data, is how many of short shares were 'covered' in that same period! If we had that information, we could then easily determine if the 'Open' short position increased, or decreased. Until then, we have to wait a few days to get the 'Open' short position from other sources.

It is most puzzling as to why the IIROC would NOT publish the number of short shares there were covered. You would think, if they have the data on how many shares were shorted, they would also have the number of short shares 'covered'. 

I honestly believe this is the IIROC's way of protecting the Institutions and not the retail investors.
