RE:Another manipulated close on Fridayfryer999:  Contrary to Carbons' comment, I'm not saying stock manipulation doesn't happen, I'm just trying to understand the mechanics. So when you say that Anon came in and dropped the stock price at the end of the day, how did s/he do that? By offering for sale at a discount? I assume that wouldn't affect the listed stock price unless someone bought on the offer. If the sales went through, Anon would be taking a loss and losing posiition in Aquila just to keep the stock price down? How would that work to Anon's benefit in the long run?

Like I say, not disputing this happens, just trying to understand how it works.
