Preferred shares

Preferred sharesI see from sedar that company articles changed to allow issuance of preferred shares.
I suppose it would depend on what the proceeds were used for and if there is already an underwriter per se but curious as to what the coupon would have to be to sell them.
Is this a better strategy than say,a cde ala Delphi or does Aimco call the shots?
side note- kudos to rze for getting on some of the reclamation and spending coin on the "soft" items as opposed to just exploit exploit exploit.
