Very interesting little comment Shadow.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I find a couple of aspects of today's news releases odd. Firstly, the news was held off until 1 April so the share price drop is in a new financial quarter. Secondly, management has known for months that the financing arrangements as they stand today would not be well received by the market. My gut feeling is that management could have finalised the refinancing arrangements by now if they really had wanted to.
Therefore, IMHO, it feels like we are being manipulated to accept a lower takeover offer than we otherwise would e.g. the C$1.50 that has been mentioned on the board today and by SR in the latest video. I do not understand what is in it for SR and Appian to go low but there is certainly much for Sprott to gain if Kirkland Lake Gold buy HRT. (Sprott owns approximately 20% of Kirkland).
While I’m on conspiracy theories, I have a second one. For the last 2 years I have posted my frustrations about the lack of information provided to us mere retail investors about the exploration drilling. Recall that the middle zone was quickly found by the geologists using downhole IP. Since then the geologists have tried at least 8 more exploration sites, telling us they are all duds. I do not believe that our geologists are that pathetic.
I think we deserve to be informed of how many holes were drilled at each of these target sites, how deep they went, and what the assay and IP results were. Instead we get no details, every time. Why is that? It seems weird to me. So, my over-active imagination has come up with a theory, that the exploration holes that have been drilled at these exploration sites were deliberately just off target but then the downhole IP was used to provide the required information as to whether or not the target has a likely mineral resource or not. Remember the middle zone discovery proved that the geologists know exactly what they are looking for.
Therefore, the news releases are accurate in that there are no assays showing a new discovery. But management could be aware of some excellent targets for follow-up drilling.
Once again, I do not know why SR and Appian would do this and then allow HRT to be purchased cheap. However, experience over the years has taught me not to EVER trust the “money men”. (I am referencing Appian and Sprott, not SR).
