For example, the company sells 5M shares at $14.16 which is more than a dollar discout to the day before's closing price. You can GUARANTEE that the share price is going to open at or below $14.16 the next day (now at $13.72 down 10% today) and will remain depressed until the bought deal is closed and usually longer. How is that not controlling the fluctuations? They make a decision, share price falls accordingly. That is the definition of control. Don't talk to me about investor vs speculator, i'm a long term holder of SIS but mgmt's decision over the last year have been detrimental to US the share holders.
Rational, yes obviously the market is not rational. Are you saying that the share price just happened to drop 10% today following the bought deal announcement last night? If so, i'd say you have a lot to learn.
