For as much as i know

1-Kenya needs commercial oil findings quickly to keep on target for the 2021 pipeline.
2-Kenya recent action to attract investors (strong regulations and petroleum Bill) makes the country proactive and safer to accelerate oil discoveries.
3-Positive feedbacks from both parts, with people actively working from Essel. 
4-Recognition by Essel and Simba that they both need each other to succeed.
5-Oil price getting crazy  

Just my thoughts for today...
