safe to say that Clarke was the buyer executing thru (73) Cormark since Aug of last year.  Im very familiar with this outfit.  They took a 10% stake in Bonnetts Energy Svcs in 2007 and worked it up to 25% by 2012 and forced the company to sell itself to a private equity shoppe in 2013. 

They've mentioned since 2015 in their earnings releases of acquiring a protfolio of service names in  Canada. I strongly believe that they have been buiding a stake in ESN as well.  No proof, just very familiar with their style.  A combination of the two would be most welcome.
