Medical MJ

Medical MJCan someone tell me the apeal for investing in medical marijuana companys? My thought is eventually the US and European union will have it legal recreationally, and at that point people will just medicate themselves... why go see a doctor? 

My thought stems from looking at all the applications for Sproutly's APP tech, but I am stuck on this thought.
