I also didn’t consider the oils they are going to extract
I didn't for 2 reasons;
1. The main reason, is this company so far has been making promises, and I want to know what their likely profits are going to be in the next few months the next quarter
2.The Side deals are hard to value, and also hard to know if and when they will be actualized.
That is, they are acting more like a hedge fund, where they buy into another company, and they own a portion of those profits. Those profits in turn, are forecasted, and in many cases are based on potential.Take the algae project. This was a nonbinding letter of intent. They don’t even have a deal, the time has passed for the initial evaluation, and they still haven’t announced. Even if they get the deal it’s a concept, they haven’t even produced out of algae
To the point, this group has made forward-looking comments/promotional statements that have never come to fruition whether it be regarding business(TPRX) or management (aHaynes)
So my focus here, is to actually calculate what is likely to happen in the next quarter
I don’t need to think about the pie in the sky, because that’s all this company has done to this point
The problem is they haven’t executed, and I believe that a nave investor can get misled by all these promises
I want to be the biggest producer in the world
I want to be a leader in the medical marijuana category
I want to have patents with cutting edge therapeutics (because that’s where the profit is)
Yeah
I want to be an astronaut
Problem is I never did anything about it
So just for fun is it possible to determine what the actual profit will be in the next quarter or two
I think this is also important because it keeps us grounded in reality, instead of looking down the road, because that approach has not gotten us anywhere
At some point these companies will all be valued based on what they are actually producing, and importantly what kind of profits are making. Even though many of these companies are generating revenue, they are not making profit
We may see a reevaluation of these companies, so it’s good to have a couple different projections, but the projections to the upside have already been made. Let’s look at what the real profit will be, as it grounds our speculation.
Maybe I was just getting frustrated, but on reflection I still think it’s a good process
I think if we put together some numbers, and folks can chip in on what they think is realistic for putting down a number, we can come up with a range, and as a group it will be fun to see what they sit with they come up with
After all, there are no analysts here, and it seems to be a better use of our time thanpeople insulting something each other
Those who are optimists can state a high number, pessimists a lo one, and those of us that are realists make them in the middle
All good in my books
first enjoy reading your posts on here. As far as determining value, currently the company can't be valued more than their existing assets less operation costs. Moving forward, aside from the license to sell limitations we would need to know production numbers, costs and established contracts in regards to distribution. Can't imagine us having the proper information soon. The potential here is killer and in all likelihood will be the grand enterprise that many here envision but not soon, IMO. No debt minimal operational costs, fingers in many pies GLTA
