Murphy is in a much stronger position to attract the best independents and licence holders into the fold - the paper being offered is now backed by a bigger payoff promise, worldwide assets, deeper finances, management depth, you name it. There are lots of players trying to squeeze into the space, but the big capital will dominate.
It may well be that Acreage is now a preferential bet on legalization in the US ... at least compared to Canopy. In the coming days, weeks some analysts will start following and this deal put Acreage on a lot of radar screens. Good riddance to fickle hot money traders.
