Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

API ReportU.S. crude stocks rose more than expected last week, while gasoline inventories increased and distillate stocks drew, data from industry group the American Petroleum Institute showed on Tuesday.. . Crude inventories rose by 6.9 million barrels in the week to April 19 to 459.6 million, compared with analysts' expectations for an increase of 1.3 million barrels. Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub fell by 389,000 barrels, API said.. . Refinery crude runs rose by 225,000 barrels per day, API data showed.. . Gasoline stocks rose by 2.2 million barrels, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1 million-barrel decline.. . Distillate fuels stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 865,000 barrels, compared with expectations for a 1.2 million-barrel drop, the API data showed.. . U.S. crude imports rose last week by 793,000 barrels per day to 7.4 million bpd.
