RE:bid/ask, a simple example

You're oversimpplifying it. You forgot the part that people have to be slapping the ask. If all the bidders are bidding 10% below the asking price (like some of you cheap asses, you know who you are ha), it will never drive the price up.

Basically the bids have to keep meeting the ask price to drive the price up....Put in an order for 300,000,000 shares at .00001, it wont drive the price up.
