Is HIVE/Genesis big enough to wag the dog?

Is HIVE/Genesis big enough to wag the dog?The recent crypto bull trend has been interrupted this week.  Does anyone here think the HIVE/Genesis spat, between two significant players in the field,  has affected crypto prices by exposing one form of investment risk?  Or are there other factors responsible?  Just wondering.
