I think they can make a bit of extra money on these distribution deals other than just the distribution fee. As an example, if the supplier charges 1.50 for a case of an item containing 12 units, the distributor can can round the price up to .13 cents per unit, which would be 1.56 per case. This would add up with a huge order. An extra 4% profit. This is my understanding anyhow.
