TORC Oil & Gas Ltd. VREYD

TORC Oil & Gas Ltd engages in the exploration, development, and production of oil and natural gas reserves in the southeast Saskatchewan area. Crude oil constitutes an overwhelming majority of the production mix the company gathers from its assets. TORC gains access to its assets through government issued royalties and uses various techniques to identify hydrocarbon reservoirs. The company focuses heavily on light oil resource plays and relies on a three-phased strategy of resource capture, delineation, and production growth.

Exciting times.

Exciting times.I wonder what will happen with Torc this year?

I think the big question will always be what is the CPP's plan?  Would they be open to a take over, even though they may not make money on the multi year investment in TOG?  I think WCP should take out Torc.  What kind of deal could be made with the Canadian Pension Plan?  Would they want to be Whitecap shareholders, or be bought out and get the Penion fund out of the oil business?  Would Grant and Whitecap want them to have such a large stake in Whitecap?

I think Whitecap should take them over.  The pension fund should roll there shares into Whitecap.  Whitecap should talk the pension fund out of the DRIP and the pension fund should take cash just like all Whitecap's current share holders.

If Torq is the aquirer, who should they acquire?  I think they should take out Granite, GXO, they are in that area already.  They know the Alberta Bakken, I think some day Alberta will be a place people want to do business again.  Some day the egress issues will not be as dire and that Alberta Bakken will be looked at again, I think there is deep value in Granite.  Cheers Matthew
