Whitecap Resources Inc. is an oil-weighted growth company. The Company is engaged in the business of acquiring, developing and holding interests in petroleum and natural gas properties and assets. Its core areas include the West Division and East Division. Its West Division is comprised of three regions: Smoky, Kaybob and Peace River Arch (PRA). The properties in its Smoky region include Kakwa and Resthaven, all located in Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Montney resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. Kaybob is located in the Fox Creek region of Northwest Alberta. Not one bit worried about large positions I added to yesterday.  Cashflow of .39 was 2 cents ahead of consensus, production about 1000 boepd better than expected, dividend increased(not as much as i wanted) and you can bet dollars to donuts as soon as they knock that 100 million off their debt that the rest somewhere in the 40 million range will be put to good use like increasing the share buyback.

Sure oil down today, inventory number not great but with all heck breaking loose in several jurisdictions where oil is produced another surge in price is coming.

One month in q2 is down with oil averaging signifciantly more than they forecast in their latest presentation.  This is a greenlight special.


I thought the quarter looked very good based on oil prices - not sure we'll get much of a bump today due to a dip in wti today - if it dips a bit I may add some more over the next week or so
