Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:RE:RE:Irwin Simon Attracting Interested Whales & InstituionalsIS and JR are shoring up Canadian operations, which is vital. Most of A1 will be planted and producing come June, along with ECOE. Focus on automation, distribution, governance = EV.

You won't attract interest from established corporations if they see you aren't running a tight ship. We are talking about deals possibly worth over a billion after all. Maybe that's what scuttled a partnership when Vic Neufeld was in charge? Could be the talks broke down when the potential partner just didn't feel old Vic was looking after the store's details to their liking. Really, when you stop and think about it Simon isn't doing anything special. He's just putting Aphria on the track of good corporate governance where it should have been all along, no thanks to Neufeld. It may not be headline news but keeping your house in order will lead to all kinds of good things for shareholders down the road.
